Before penalties, Campbell wound up 14th fastest at the end of Thursday evening in the #22 Schumacher CLRT Porsche 911 GT3 R shared with Frederic Makowiecki and Ayhancan Guven.
The trio were half a second off the pace with a 2:17.523s average.
Provisional pole position initially went the way of Mercedes-AMG squad GetSpeed with Maxime Martin, Maximilian Gotz, and Fabian Schiller combining for a 2:17.049s.
However, the team had its lap scrubbed from the third leg of qualifying after the team made unpermitted changes to the car following that session.
The team will not take part in Superpole as a result and will drop to 58th in the order.

Provisional pole position instead went the way of Alessio Rovera, Tommaso Mosca and Nicklas Nielsen in the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3.
Campbell was going to be the sole Australian driver to make it into Friday’s Superpole session until the penalty to the GetSpeed entry.
Christian Mansell narrowly missed out on making the top 32 cut in 33rd. However, the #20 Team Motopark Mercedes-AMG GT3 was promoted to 32nd after penalties were applied.
Garnet Patterson was 43rd overall and third in the Bronze class #222 2Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 with a 2:19.110s four-lap average.
Calan Williams wasn’t far behind in 45th overall and fourth in Bronze behind the wheel of the #42 Oman Racing by Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 with a 2:19.607s four-lap average.
Jordan Love qualified 54th with a 2:22.937s in the #0 Johor Motorsports Racing JMR Corvette Z06 GT3 R.
Bayley Hall was eighth in the Bronze class and 56th overall driving the #123 Muehlner Motorsport Porsche with a 2:25.336s average across the four drivers.
Bryce Fullwood was 63rd of the 65 cars that qualified with a 2:25.095s for the #914 Razoon More Than Racing Porsche.
Superpole at the Spa 24 gets underway at 11:05pm AEST.
